South America's Largest Home Show Opens in São Paulo, Bangladesh Sets Up National Pavilion

From August 11 to 13, 2026, Home Show Brazil 2026, one of the largest home and lifestyle product exhibitions in South America, was held at the Distrito Anhembi exhibition complex in São Paulo, Brazil. As a vital emerging market on the global stage, Brazil is increasingly attracting the attention of international exporting nations. Making an impressive showcase, Bangladesh presented its specialty jute products, premium leather goods, and diverse home and lifestyle items, aiming to further deepen economic and trade cooperation with South America and comprehensively expand its export footprint in Latin America. Organized by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Brasília and supported by dedicated funding from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) of Bangladesh, this participation underscores the Bangladeshi government's firm commitment to diversifying its export markets.

Home Show Brazil enjoys a stellar reputation and significant influence in the South American home and lifestyle sector, serving as a core platform for regional buyers, designers, and retailers to source quality suppliers. Beyond individual company booths, Bangladesh also unveiled a National Image Pavilion, jointly created by the EPB and the Embassy of Bangladesh in Brazil. At this official pavilion, a comprehensive array of brochures, flyers, and professional publications were meticulously displayed to showcase the country's competitive export products across multiple dimensions. Additionally, high-quality documentary films promoting Bangladesh's export industries were screened continuously on-site. This audiovisual approach vividly conveyed the current state of the country's manufacturing sector and its investment potential to international buyers, significantly boosting the global recognition of the national brand.

On the corporate exhibition front, four outstanding Bangladeshi companies presented the unique appeal of "Made in Bangladesh" to global buyers across five meticulously designed booths. The participating enterprises included Jihan Plastic Industries, Madar Tannery, Rainbow Jute, and Classical Handmade Products. Their exhibits spanned jute products, fashion bags, high-end leather goods, natural fiber woven baskets, exquisite home decor, eco-friendly bamboo products, traditional terracotta and clay crafts, and the highly distinctive Nakshi Kantha traditional embroidery. Jute, known as Bangladesh's "golden fiber," is highly favored in the international market for its eco-friendly and durable properties. Meanwhile, the leather goods and hand-woven items demonstrate the country's profound expertise in integrating traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing. These products, blending natural materials with exquisite craftsmanship, not only reflect the global trend toward sustainable development but also highlight Bangladesh's innovative vitality in the lifestyle products sector.

The exhibition site was buzzing with activity, and the Bangladesh pavilion attracted a large number of prospective professional buyers from Brazil and other parts of Latin America. Buyers showed keen interest in the jute home goods, leather bags, and handcrafted decorations on display, highly praising their excellent quality. After carefully examining the product details and craftsmanship, several international buyers expressed strong purchasing intentions and engaged in in-depth business negotiations with the exhibiting companies.
