On August 14, the 25th China Changchun International Agriculture and Food Expo officially opened at the Changchun Agricultural Expo Park. Running for 10 days, this year's Expo is themed "Building Jilin into a Demonstration Highland for Modern Large-Scale Agriculture in the New Era," focusing on the strategic goal of developing modern large-scale agriculture. Adhering to the principles of pragmatism, frugality, exchange and cooperation, and benefiting farmers and enterprises, the Expo showcased the fruitful achievements of Jilin's modern agricultural development through seven featured exhibition zones and over 100 events, including business matchmaking, brand promotion, and science popularization and cultural activities. It has successfully built a broad platform for national agricultural exchange, cooperation, and supply-demand matching.

As a vital window into Jilin's agricultural transformation and upgrading, this year's Expo features diverse exhibition zones highlighting respective strengths and business formats, presenting a comprehensive picture of Jilin's entire agricultural industry chain. In Halls 1 to 4, the Exhibition of Premium and Specialty Agricultural Products and Foods gathers a wealth of high-quality resources. The "Jilin Agricultural Boutique Hall" brings together premium agricultural products from renowned enterprises across the province's cities and prefectures, as well as exquisite handicrafts by rural artisans. The "Changchun Premium Agricultural Products Hall" showcases specialty branded agricultural products from all counties, cities, and districts in Changchun. The "National Agricultural Boutique Hall" has attracted over 500 enterprises from 25 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across China, including Zhejiang, Guangdong, and Shandong, featuring more than 1,800 exhibits that fully demonstrate the diversity of premium agricultural products nationwide. The "Supply and Marketing Specialty Agricultural Products Hall" gathers specialty exhibits from supply and marketing system enterprises and farmers' professional cooperatives both inside and outside the province. Located in Hall 5, the Agricultural Science and Technology Achievements and County-level Specialty Wealth-Boosting Industries Zone showcases cutting-edge research achievements from universities and research institutes at home and abroad, as well as the development outcomes of county-level wealth-boosting industries across various regions. In addition, the Modern Agricultural Machinery and Smart Agriculture Zone features advanced intelligent agricultural machinery from home and abroad, with live demonstrations of unmanned operations throughout the entire agricultural process, providing a vivid showcase of smart agriculture achievements. Meanwhile, the Facility Agriculture and Horticultural Flowers Zone, Premium Animal Husbandry and Fishery Zone, Modern Agricultural Technology and Seed Industry Zone, and Creative Agriculture and Farming Culture Zone are also open simultaneously. Covering seed industry innovation, facility horticulture, animal husbandry and fishery, and farming folk culture, they present a feast of agricultural science and technology for visitors.

Compared with previous editions, this year's Expo is full of highlights, with multiple initiatives achieving historic firsts. In terms of regional coordinated development, the cities of Changchun, Jilin, Siping, and Liaoyuan have joined hands to debut the newly created "Changchun Modernized Metropolitan Circle" exhibition zone. Breaking away from the previous model of independent exhibitions by each region, this zone closely integrates the entire industry chain, including R&D, planting, processing, and marketing, strongly driving Jilin's agricultural strategy from "going it alone" to "going global as a united force." In terms of brand empowerment, in response to the significant increase in the number of exhibitors nationwide, the Expo innovatively launched the "Agri-Expo Release" platform. This provincial-level platform uniformly selects and promotes premium agricultural products, providing authoritative endorsement and empowerment for "Jilin-branded" agricultural products. In scientific and technological innovation, the Sanjiang Laboratory made its debut, showcasing a batch of research achievements highly suited to Jilin's black soil, including super rice, high-protein soybeans, saline-alkali land improvement, and green prevention and control. This effectively promotes the translation of cutting-edge laboratory research into field applications. Meanwhile, the agricultural machinery zone has been expanded and upgraded, with a large number of intelligent agricultural machinery equipment undergoing live operational demonstrations, profoundly illustrating the powerful force of iterative upgrades in modern agricultural equipment.

During the Expo, a series of promotional and exchange events were equally exciting, aiming to transform the short-term buzz of the event into long-term business cooperation opportunities. In the promotion and marketing segment, the organizers held over 40 dedicated enterprise promotion events. In the economic and trade activities segment, more than a dozen high-level exchange events were held intensively, including the Matchmaking Conference for "Jilin-branded" Nourishing and Health Products, the Matchmaking Conference for Agricultural Product Channel Expansion and Cooperation among Jilin, Zhejiang, Guangdong, and Tianjin, and the "Famous Enterprises Visit Jilin" tour, adhering to the principle of promoting sales through exhibitions and boosting production through sales. In the science popularization and culture segment, over a dozen featured activities were carried out, including the Science Popularization Fair, the Ecological New Farmers Conference, training for rural internet influencers, and performances celebrating the culture of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army, further enhancing the social impact of the Expo. Notably, this year's Expo also set up two sub-venues, Siji Nanhe and Xinmin Street, to conduct sales and exhibition activities in synergy with the main venue. Online, simultaneous live streaming was launched across multiple platforms, bringing the exhibition floor directly into the live streaming rooms, achieving online and offline synergy and omni-channel sales and exhibition.

The Changchun Agricultural Expo is not only a grand marketplace for the exhibition and sale of agricultural products but also a vital engine for advancing agricultural modernization. Based on the resource endowments of Jilin's black soil, this year's Expo focuses on seed industry revitalization, technological empowerment, brand cultivation, and supply-demand matching, building an efficient bridge for communication and transactions for a wide range of enterprises, purchasers, and the public. Looking ahead, the Changchun Agricultural Expo will continue to enhance the reputation of Jilin agriculture, helping Jilin accelerate the construction of a demonstration highland for modern large-scale agriculture in the new era, and injecting stronger momentum into the comprehensive promotion of rural revitalization and the realization of agricultural and rural modernization.
