On the morning of August 21, the 4th Yellow River Basin Maternal and Infant Industry Expo 2026 grandly opened at the Jinyang Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanxi Province. Spanning three days, this year's expo is themed "Explore the Scenic Beauty of Shanxi, Shop for Premium Maternal and Infant Products." It brings together nearly 100 leading maternal and infant brands and service providers, offering families a comprehensive one-stop service ranging from maternity care and child development to infant formula, complementary foods, and smart parenting. The venue also features a variety of interactive perks, including check-in gifts, welcome gifts for new customers, and spend-and-save discounts, benefiting numerous families and creating a vibrant atmosphere on site.

Previously held for three consecutive sessions in Jinan, Shandong Province, the Yellow River Basin Maternal and Infant Industry Expo has consistently sparked industry fervor, establishing itself as a highly influential maternal and infant industry event in the region. This year, at the invitation of the Taiyuan CCPIT, the expo has crossed the Yellow River for the first time and officially landed in Taiyuan. The event is guided by Shandong Digital Culture Group, Shanxi Xingweishi Media, and the Taiyuan Convention and Exhibition Information Center; organized by Qilu Evening News and Qilu Yidian; and co-organized by the Taiyuan Maternal and Infant Care Association. It is also jointly co-organized by industry associations and enterprises from nine provinces along the Yellow River, including the Shandong Maternal and Infant Industry Service Association, Henan Maternal and Infant Products Industry Association, Xi'an Maternal and Infant Care Industry Association in Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia Maternal and Infant Service Industry Association, Lanzhou Maternal and Infant Service Association in Gansu, Sichuan Eugenics and Childcare Association, and Shanxi Xingweishi Education Consulting Co., Ltd., jointly building a solid bridge for cross-regional industrial synergy.

The opening ceremony was graced by a distinguished gathering of leaders and guests. Attendees included Liao Luchuan, Member of the Editorial Committee of Dazhong Newspaper Group and Editor-in-Chief of Qilu Evening News and Qilu Yidian; Gong Meimei, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of Taiyuan CCPIT; Cao Zhongjian, Vice President of Taiyuan CCPIT; Guo Qiang, Member of the Economic and Management Committee of Shandong Digital Culture Group; Wang Xiaomei, Editor-in-Chief of the Maternal and Infant Channel of Qilu Evening News and Qilu Yidian and Secretary-General of the Shandong Maternal and Infant Industry Service Association; and Liu Yajuan, President of the Taiyuan Maternal and Infant Care Association. They gathered to witness this major industry event.

Delivering the opening address on behalf of the organizer, Liao Luchuan stated that Qilu Evening News and Qilu Yidian have always upheld the social responsibility of mainstream media, committed to building an integrated online and offline service platform to facilitate industrial connectivity and continuously promote the high-quality development of the maternal and infant industry in the Yellow River Basin. In her address, Gong Meimei emphasized that the expo's first crossing of the Yellow River and establishment in Taiyuan is a significant achievement driven and coordinated at a high level by the CCPIT. She pointed out that this grand event will undoubtedly inject strong new momentum into the development of the maternal and infant industry in Taiyuan and the broader central and western regions. Subsequently, the attending leaders took the stage together to officially launch the 4th Yellow River Basin Maternal and Infant Industry Expo 2026, marking the official kickoff of this industry gala that radiates across the central and western maternal and infant markets.

The expo also highlights cultural innovation. At the opening ceremony, the debut of the "Jin Xiaoxi" and "Lu Xiaodong" China Chic collectible figures made a stunning appearance. These two IP images cleverly embody the profound cultural heritage of Shanxi and Shandong: Jin Xiaoxi holds an account book, vividly inheriting the integrity-based ethos of Shanxi merchants, while Lu Xiaodong holds the Analects, perfectly continuing the scholarly tradition of respecting literature and etiquette in the hometown of Confucius and Mencius. Paired with blue-and-gold China Chic packaging, the cultural essence of both regions is seamlessly integrated into the IP designs, making them a major eye-catching focus at the expo.

The maternal and infant industry is closely linked to the well-being of thousands of households and the future of the nation. Currently, with consumption upgrades and the popularization of scientific parenting concepts, the maternal and infant market is accelerating its transformation towards refinement and intelligence. For the first time, this expo has achieved a partnership between Shandong and Shanxi and coordinated efforts across nine provinces along the Yellow River. It not only provides the industry with an efficient platform for trade matching and information sharing but also strongly promotes in-depth collaboration among the provinces along the Yellow River in core areas such as the formulation of industry service standards, professional talent training, and the incubation of high-quality brands. This is not only a vivid practice of coordinated industrial development in the Yellow River Basin but also holds profound and positive contemporary value in helping to build a fertility-friendly society and promoting the long-term balanced development of the population.

Following the opening ceremony, the attending leaders toured the exhibition venue to gain an in-depth understanding of the cutting-edge products and innovative services in each exhibition area. Looking ahead, the Yellow River Basin Maternal and Infant Industry Expo will continue to leverage its role as a platform and link, leading the regional maternal and infant industry towards a new stage of prosperous and high-quality development.
