The Farnborough International Airshow (FIA2026), the world's largest aerospace event, officially opened its doors today (July 20). This edition sets a historic record: approximately 1,600 exhibitors from 114 countries and regions gather, with overseas exhibitors accounting for 63%. An additional 5,000 square meters of activity space has been added, including a brand new Hall 0 and outdoor exhibition areas. Defense exhibitors account for about half of the total, a significant increase from the historical 40%. Participation from defense, AI, deep tech, and financial sectors has surged substantially. US exhibitors occupy approximately 35% of the total exhibition area. The show revolves around six themes: Global Security, Advanced Technology and AI, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Finance, and Future Workforce. The Aerospace Global Forum, Defense Summit, and Aviation Executive Summit serve as high-level platforms. Analyst IBA predicts that this week's commercial aircraft orders and letters of intent may reach 875, a significant rebound from 438 orders at Farnborough 2024.
