North America's largest general aviation carnival, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, opened concurrently on July 20. This is the 73rd annual airshow hosted by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), expected to attract approximately 700,000 aviation enthusiasts and over 10,000 aircraft from around the world. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced it will set up an Aviation Safety Center at the venue, providing on-site air traffic control recruitment services, helping applicants complete the onboarding process through fingerprinting and medical examinations. This year's event coincides with the US 250th anniversary of independence. Boeing will showcase the 737-800, 777-300, F-15, P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, and other models, featuring STEM education and youth experience programs. Youth under 18 enter free.
