The 49th Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE 2026) was held on August 6 in Lagos, running through August 8, themed 'Building Resilient Energy Systems in a Rapidly Evolving Energy Landscape.'
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) announced: 22 major offshore oil and gas projects are expected to advance between 2026 and 2030, with an investment potential of $30-50 billion. Since 2024, NUPRC has approved over $57 billion in development plans.
The conference focused on investment governance, local content, ESG standards, and human capital development, attracting technical experts and government officials from Nigerian and international oil companies. It is one of the most influential energy industry events in West Africa.
